Alan J Amira received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance from York College CUNY and K-12 Music Teacher Certification from Queens College CUNY.
Alan is a member of several orchestras in central New Jersey, currently playing in the Westminster Conservatory Orchestra, principal cellist, Bravura Philharmonic and Sinfonietta Nova. Alan also plays chamber music with the Philadelphia Cello Society. Alan resides in the Princeton area where he maintains his private teaching studio.
Alan is a registered Suzuki Cello Teacher currently enrolled in the Suzuki Association of the Americas recognized Long-Term Teacher Training Program, studying with international recognized lecturer and master Suzuki cello teacher, Pamela Devenport at the School for Strings in New York City. Upon completion, he will be certified by the SAA through cello book 10.
